I love getting my free books with Amazon Prime Reading

What is Amazon Prime Reading? Free Books, that's what!

Congratulations to us Amazon addicts and book lovers because Amazon just added another perk that I, for one, took immediate advantage of: Amazon Prime Reading.

Amazon Prime Reading

Current Prime members now have Prime Reading included in their $99 yearly membership which gives us unlimited access to over a thousand Kindle books, magazines, comics, and other reading material at no extra cost.

Prime Reading is also available for paid Amazon Student, 30-day free trial, and customers receiving a free month of Prime benefits with a Fire tablet.

My daughter hopped onboard and immediately downloaded a Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone while I stuck with my true love, romance and romantic erotica.

Unlike Kindle Unlimted, all included titles are available via the Android,  iOS Kindle apps, or, of course, via your Kindle reading device.

Unfortunatley, Prime Reading is currently only available for customers with a U.S. country of residence.

Borrow a Book from Prime Reading

To borrow a book using your Prime Reading benefits:

  1. Go to the Kindle Store at
  2. Locate a title that you’d like to borrow, and then view the product detail page for that title.
  3. Select the option to borrow the book for free with Prime Reading, and then select the device or Kindle reading app you’d like to read the title on.
Tip: You can also click the option to borrow the book for free with Prime Reading from the Kindle Store on the Kindle app for iOS or Android, as well as Kindle e-readers and Fire tablets.

If you cancel your Amazon Prime membership or your Amazon Prime membership expires after you borrow a book, you will lose access to the book you borrowed.

Return a Book Borrowed from Prime Reading

Books from Prime Reading have no due dates and can be returned at any time.

  1. Go to Manage Your Content and Devices
  2. In the Your Content tab, select the book with the Prime or sort books to only show Prime Reading
  3. Click the Actions button next to the title, and then select Return this book.
  4. Click Yes to confirm.

Are you using Amazon Prime Reading? Why or why not?
